Most of my friends watching reality tv are well aware of these points and the fun is in the reading and dialogue around what is happening – not around making fun of the characters but around making fun of the process of filming, almost. Ever since watching Jean Kilbourne’s awesome documentary series “Killing Us Softly” as a teenager, I have had a desire to teach students about the manipulative ways of advertising and media.
